Movieline's Week in Review: Dirty Minds

Leader image for Movieline's Week in Review: Dirty Minds

It’s probably one of Mercury-in-retrograde things, or a full-moon thing, or who even knows, but something got into us this week at Movieline. The news just felt… I can’t even say it. [Blushes] Anyway, saucy weekend captain Dixon Gaines will take it from here, and the rest of us will catch you bright and early Monday. Have a great one!

· Scary-thin Natalie Portman extended her lead in the Oscar Index. These five performers, sadly, did not.

· The Academy installed James Franco and Anne Hathaway as your 2011 Oscarcast hosts! Colin Firth and Ke$ha will be heartbroken, but it’s for the best.

· Many thanks to this week’s illustrious interviewees, including Helena Bonham Carter, Darren Aronofsky, Jesse Eisenberg, Vincent Cassel, Amber Tamblyn, Julie Benz, Keith Powell and Verge designee Armie Hammer.

· Between Jake Gyllenhaal’s junk and Jodie Foster’s Beaver, we perhaps overindulged our dirty minds.

· Recaps! We got recaps, including 30 Rock, Glee, Boardwalk Empire, Community, The Event, Gossip Girl, Fringe, Grey’s Anatomy and the stunning-ish A-List: New York finale.

· High Strung was inducted into the canon of Bad Movies We Love.

· More awards! Gothams! Spirits! NBRs! Wooooo! Hiccup.

· RIP Leslie Nielsen and Irvin Kershner. And thanks for everything.
