Michael Ausiello Chooses Matt Mitovich as Right Hand Man for New MMC TV website

matt_mitovich_225.jpgHere’s one more good reason to ring in the new year: Michael Ausiello has just announced that Fancast executive TV editor Matt Mitovich will join him in running his new consumer TV site for MMC. Starting November 29, Mitovich will assist Ausiello in developing the site and defining it’s editorial plan. Upon the site’s launch in January 2011, he will serve as the editor-at-large.

Mitovich has conducted over 1,200 interviews during his time at Fancast and TV Guide, and his we’re all huge fans of his laid-back interview style that somehow manages to tease out both personal insight and new storyline information from his interview subjects. Said Ausiello:

“When I started to think about the best reporters in TV news, Matt’s was the first name that popped into my head. Then I thought, ‘No way do I want someone THAT good anywhere near my new website. I’ve seen Showgirls. I know how that ends. But then I realized, no, for the good of the readers, we HAVE to hire him.”

There you have it. Again, the site will launch in January 2011 and is still has not announced its name. Check out the entire press release at our sister site, Deadline.
