VIDEO: What If Ricky Gervais Directed the Local News?

Forget expletives and meltdowns, this awkward minute of bloopers on a mid-day newscast in San Diego approaches such deadpan perfection that you’ll swear it was scripted. Not only is the comic timing nearly flawless, but the segment builds to a finale that will make comedy writers everywhere a bit envious. It’s possible that the Channel Ten crew just had a rough day (Hey, it happens to the best of us.), but I’d like to think there was more going on behind the scenes than we know. Maybe the The Office creator Ricky Gervais could relocate to San Diego and make a series that fleshes it all out?
